This peptone is produced via enzyme hydrolysis of broadbean protein. It is a 3N peptone:

As such, it is not concerned with most EU directives regarding GMOs or mandatory allergen labelling.
Broadbean peptone is characterized by excellent fertility, widespread application and a particularly good results with lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacilli, Streptococci, etc). It can, in many cases, substitute for meat peptones with these bacteria. Typical use in industry is in bacterial growth (biomass in the probiotics industry) or enzyme production.
